Turning Pointe's Recreational Dance Division (Click title for more information)
The objective for the participant in the Recreational program is to have fun learning the basic steps and positions of jazz, tap, ballet and tumbling. Another objective is to enhance participation, memory, listening, sequencing skills, balance and coordination as they express themselves physically. These fun recreational classes focus on coordination, motor skills, sensitivity to music, and spatial awareness through the use of imagination and props. Students will learn the beginning steps and vocabulary for the genres of ballet and tap.
Level placement: Age is to be used only as a guideline. Level placement is at the sole discretion of the Artistic Director. During the first week of class some changes may occur to ensure that each individual student is in the appropriate level. Three year olds must be potty trained and must be able to participate in class without continual parental presence and be able to cooperate in group situations.
